Job Description

Newly Weds Foods, a privately held successful global leader in food ingredient technology has an immediate openings for a Industrial Maintenance Mechanic with a strong industrial  focus for our Watertown, Massachusetts location. Job Description

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, you will ensure that the plant's equipment is performing at maximum potential to keep production lines running by making timely electrical and mechanical repairs complying with all Food Industry Safety Standards and GMP regulations. Additional duties include:

Performing regular preventative maintenance following set schedules

Identifying any other repairs or needs
Fabrication of parts and welding as necessary

Communicate effectively with Production Managers, Supervisors, and Production team members

Timely and accurate completion of documentation on repairs and preventative maintenance

Complete requests for service and ensure adequate parts are available for assigned work

Ensures adherence to sanitation practices and GMP's

Participate in shift change meetings communicating and coordinating work with other Maintenance Team members.

Report equipment quality or any other issues as needed

Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent, Trade School  preferred
Prefer experience in the food industry

Proven understanding and ability to repair industrial electrical systems, mechanical systems, hydrolics & pneumatic conveying systems

Ability to trouble-shoot systems and equipment to determine root causes of problems
Welding and Fabrication
Must be able to successfully pass mechanical assessments

Must have good computer skills
Must be able to drive a forklift

Must be able to do heavy lifting, pushing, pulling (up to 50 lbs) during the shift

Must be able to stand, lift, twist, bend, climb ladders to platforms & silos
