Job Description

 STATUS:Hourly





JOB PURPOSE:   


Electrical License required. This position will be responsible for the day to day performance of the plant electrical and maintenance. This includes overseeing maintenance operations in a safe and efficient manner and includes responsibility for technical training, determining work load, project management and coaching and development of team members.   The successful execution of these responsibilities will result in providing a high level of services to the production team; improve plant productivity, which will ultimately result in the success of the Plant.



ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 



•         Licensed Electrician – performs all aspects of electrical needs for the plant



•         Leads safely by following SOP’s, LOTO, PPE’s, Fall Protection and Confined Spaces to achieve plant and departmental goals.



•         Perform metal fabrication, cutting, welding and finishing. 



•         Use shop and hand tools safely and properly.    



•         Climb ladders, access platforms from 6 to 75 feet, occasionally.


     Lift, push, and pull using proper techniques up to 50 pounds frequently and up to 200 pounds occasionally.        


     Work in confined spaces, underneath, over and next to moving equipment safely.



•         Can walk and stand for work periods for up to 10 hours when needed with 2 – 15 minute breaks and 1 half hour lunch break.



•         Ensures compliance with all company policies.



•         Works in tandem with maintenance/planner to maximize the effectiveness of the maintenance work order system to utilize MP2.



•         Ensures timely execution of all work orders to maximize efficiency.



•         Establishes a work environment characterized by mutual trust, respect, open honest communications, teamwork and demonstrate a passion for quality and customer service.



•         Identifies and implements innovative productivity projects.



•         Provides input in the development of capital and departmental budgets.



•         Drives a culture of continuous improvement utilizing techniques including root cause analysis and project management skills.



•         Builds and maintains outstanding employee relations with other departments.



•         Assists in the administration of the Plant Capital Plan.



•         Performs other duties as assigned.



•         Flexible in scheduling to meet business needs / over time required

 Electric license – supervisor’s license preferred; yet Journeyman license will be considered
 Possess knowledge of manufacturing processes and operations
 Strong technical skills in operation systems (NWF applications). Possess ability to operate a computer; Knowledge of Windows based software; Knowledge of basic functions of manufacturing process software (i.e. Wonderware, Excel, Word, Packaging equipment present and learn new, etc.).
 Developing project management skills. Possess the ability for planning and scheduling skills.
 Be able to make informed decisions and effectively implement solutions
 Is able to troubleshoot technical and relational situations
 Developing the ability of qualitative thinking skills- results oriented, cost/benefit analysis
 Forklift Certification desirable
 Possess knowledge of the following:
 Safety regulations within manufacturing environment
 Metal fabrication and welding processes
 Safety regulations within Maintenance functions

 Safety oriented: understands safety is a top priority

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
 High School diploma
 Electrical License – Supervisor license preferred; Journeyman license will be considered
 4+ years progressive work experience in industrial maintenance environment/food manufacturing preferred
 Demonstrated leadership abilities
 Food processing and packaging machinery experience preferred.
 Ability to pass Employment, Comprehension and Math tests; Attention to detail, Good Communication skills
 Ability to develop in OJT training for Maintenance
 Oregon Electrical License desired
