Job Description

The Regulatory Manager is responsible for coordinating all the activities of the regulatory and technical information staff to ensure the accuracy and compliance for product labeling and technical information of the products manufactured by Newly Weds Foods in accordance with government regulations and NWF Policies and Procedures.

  • Lead, manage, and develop the staff’s knowledge, skills, and abilities to handle the work load and department objectives to support the business
  • Ensure customer requests are processed efficiently, consistently, professionally, and accurately in accordance with NWF policies and current regulations
  • Develop, analyze and improve processes/programs associated with technical information requests and coordinate implementation with MIS and/or Systems Manager
  • Analyze work performed and generate reports to effectively communicate the type and quantity of requests completed, emerging trends, and potential areas of improvement or risk to upper management
  • Provide training and guidance to RTIS staff to complete tasks and resolve issues
  • Review, document, and audit the work flow procedures of the RTIS functions
  • Write department and/or Corporate policies, procedures, and business communications pertaining to RTIS functions, NWF practices and programs, or regulations
  • Develop and implement training programs and presentations for NWF employees and customers
  • Provide leadership in the assimilation of formulas, ingredients, labeling, and manufacturing data into NWF operating systems for acquisitions
  • Serve as RTIS liaison to other NWF departments including Sales, Marketing, Operations, Customer Service, R&D Product Development Scientists, Purchasing, and MIS.
  • Read, analyze and interpret food-industry periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations
  • Participate in food industry forums and trade groups
  • Approximately 15-25% travel
  • Perform duties as assigned

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in food science or related discipline
  • 10+ years of Management experience in the food industry preferred
  • Strong analytical abilities, problem solving, and organizational skills
  • Effective project management skills
  • Proven Interpersonal Skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication
  • Excellent computer skills in word, excel, Lotus, AS400 or similar manufacturing IS, and web based platforms
