Job Description

Raw Material Information Specialist is responsible for acquiring and maintaining mandatory supplier technical documentation on all raw materials and assimilating this information accurately and consistently into NWF operating systems. The RMI Specialist is expected to complete a high volume of work and perform advanced raw material processing while maintaining the integrity of the raw material information. Expert level knowledge and abilities in raw material processing.
Essential Functions: 


  • The ability to proficiently perform all Raw Material Information Technician duties.

  • Maintain the accuracy of Newly Weds Foods’ databases by adding, removing, and updating raw material details, technical information and documents.

  • Work with suppliers, Purchasing, and R&D to acquire technical documentation on raw materials and review for completeness.

  • Work with RMIG or other departments to confirm the accuracy and compliance of the technical information to standards.

  • Ensure raw materials are inventoried appropriately in accordance with plant requirements and restrictions.

  • Format and update Newly Weds Foods’ internal raw material specifications for critical characteristics as dictated by R&D, Quality Assurance & Food Safety, Purchasing, or Regulatory.

  • Perform advanced raw material processing including but not limited to data analysis, purchase verification, system navigation, cascade deletion of all inputs, and the ability to run queries.

  • Apply knowledge, skills, and abilities to assignments to support department and NWF business objectives.

  • Recognize when a standard process is not functioning properly, identify system needs or optimization opportunities, and be able to effectively communicate issues to management.

  • Assist in department training and procedure writing.

Job Requirements

  • College degree with minimum 2 years related industry experience preferred



  • Strong analytical abilities, problem solving, and organizational skills

  • Effective project management skills

  • Proven interpersonal skills

  • Excellent written and oral communication

  • Excellent computer skills in all Microsoft Office applications, Lotus, IBM i or similar manufacturing IS, and web based platforms
