Job Description

The Regional Quality Assurance Manager is responsible for managing all corporate quality assurance and food safety activities associated with supporting specific Newly Weds Foods (NWF) Business Units. The Regional Food Safety and Quality Assurance Manager will be responsible to monitor and ensure compliance and execution of NWF food safety and regulatory programs. This person will be an active agent on Food Safety cultural change.
The Regional Food Safety and Quality Assurance Manager will interact directly with the Division Quality and Plant Management to drive food safety initiatives, FSMA compliance and Quality assurance continuous improvement. This individual will interact with a cross functional team, such Sanitation, Safety, Production, Maintenance, and Supplier CQA.

Essential Functions: 

•         Implement proactive quality and food safety programs to differentiate NWF and our products from competitors.

•         Assist divisions in the compliance and execution of our Food Safety policies and systems in accordance with appropriate regulatory guidelines and customer requirements.

•         Monitor customer complaints and assist the Division in root cause identification.  

•         Support the Division with the creation of Corrective and Preventive actions that will foster accountability and ownership

•         Assist in the training and development of Division Management and Associates on food safety guidelines.

•         Provide technical expertise and support to the field on projects designed to improve our food quality, food safety and sanitation.

•         Conduct periodic internal audits in the assigned Divisions to ensure continuing compliance with all local, state, and federal (FDA) regulatory agencies.

•         Support and drive the execution of key food safety initiatives in assigned Divisions.

•         Drive Continuous Improvement across the Divisions by sharing best practices and promoting standardization.

•         Provide leadership, support and mentoring to plant based quality personnel.

•         Lead and facilitate internal and external operational audit evaluations in the quality and food safety areas of responsibility.

•         Provide quality and food safety leadership and input into product and process development activities. Work with plant and research personnel to ensure product consistency.

•         Engage in direct relationships with customer technical personnel along with other Newly Weds foods personnel to facilitate achievement of company business objectives.

•         Monitor trends and emerging issues within the quality and food safety business environments to keep Newly Weds Foods informed, involved, and on the leading edge of such issues.

•         Serve in crisis management role for quality and food safety issues.

•         Position requires approximately 75% travel.

Job Requirements

-Requires a Bachelors of Science in Life Sciences program or equivalent work experience.

-10 – 15 years’ experience in Food Industry.

-Requires a broad knowledge of Quality Assurance, Research & Development, and/or Technical Services.

-Strong communication, analytical abilities, organization skills and general knowledge of IBM -I-Series, Microsoft 0ffice and Lotus Notes.
